Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Clipzula (“we”, “us”) collects when you use clipzula.com and the Clipzula service, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Clipzula is operated by Clipzula, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) (Dutch Chamber of Commerce no. 77414926), based in the Netherlands, which is the controller of your personal data. What we collect

  • Account data: your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in readable form. When you sign up we also note how you found Clipzula: the page you first landed on, the referring website and any campaign tag in the link (such as ?ref= or utm_source), the click id an ad network adds to the link when you came from an ad (Google Adsgclid, Reddit rdt_cid), plus your answer to “How did you hear about Clipzula?” if you give one. We use this only to see which channels bring people to Clipzula, and to tell that ad network when someone who came from its ad buys a plan. If you accepted analytics cookies, the first page of your visit is kept in your browser’s session storage until you close the tab.
  • Connected platform data: when you connect YouTube, TikTok or Instagram, we receive access tokens from that platform and basic profile information (your channel or account name, ID and avatar). We use them only to publish the clips you schedule and to show you how those clips perform.
  • Your content: videos you upload, recordings of streams you ask us to record, transcripts we generate from them, the clips we render, and the titles and captions you write or approve. When you clip someone else’s stream, we store the channel name and link and which account confirmed it and when.
  • Usage and technical data: which actions you take in the app (for your own audit log), processing usage per clip (to apply your plan’s limits), and standard server logs such as IP address and browser type, kept for security and troubleshooting.
  • Website analytics: we use Google Analytics to count visits to clipzula.com and see which pages are used (pages viewed, referrer, approximate location, device and browser type). We also use Contentsquare to understand how visitors use our website and the Clipzula app (clicks, scrolling and session replays, which can show what is on your screen) and to ask short in-app surveys (your answers can be linked to how you used the site), the Reddit Ads pixel to measure which Reddit ads lead to sign-ups and purchases (page visits, sign-ups and purchase amounts, linked to a Reddit cookie), and the Google Ads tag to measure which Google ads lead to visits and sign-ups (ad clicks and page visits, linked to a Google cookie). Google Analytics, Google Ads, Contentsquare and the Reddit pixel only load, and only set their cookies, after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. We store your choice in a cookie (cz_consent) for one year. You can change it at any time with . Without your consent no analytics run. Our login session cookie is strictly necessary and is always set when you log in.

How we use it

  • To run the service: record or receive your footage, find clip-worthy moments, render clips, and publish them to the accounts you connected, at the times you choose.
  • To show you your clips’ performance (views and similar statistics) inside Clipzula.
  • To keep your account secure, enforce plan limits and fix problems.
  • To contact you about your account or the service.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your content to train AI models.

Connected social accounts

You connect TikTok, Instagram and YouTube through Post for Me (postforme.dev), a posting service that holds the platform connections on our behalf. When you connect an account, the platform’s sign-in screen may show Post for Me as the app you give access to. Post for Me stores the access tokens for your account and publishes the clips you schedule, with the text and settings you choose, at the times you pick. We send it the clip and the post text, and we read back your account name, profile picture and whether each post went out.

Google and YouTube data

When you connect a YouTube channel, Clipzula (through Post for Me) uses the YouTube API Services to upload the clips you schedule and to read your channel name and your clips’ statistics. By connecting, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Clipzula’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke Clipzula’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google security settings, or by disconnecting YouTube inside Clipzula.

TikTok and Instagram data

When you connect TikTok or Instagram, their official APIs are used (through Post for Me) only to publish the clips you schedule, with the settings you choose for each post, and to read your basic profile information. You can disconnect them in Clipzula or remove the app from the connected apps in your TikTok or Instagram settings at any time.

Early-access waitlist

When you join the early-access waitlist, we store your email address, the page you signed up on and your IP address. We use the email address only to tell you when Clipzula launches, and the IP address only to prevent abuse (we limit how many signups one network can make). Your email address is added to a mailing list at Resend, which sends these emails on our behalf. You can unsubscribe with the link in any of these emails, or email support@clipzula.com and we will delete your signup. We keep it until we stop sending launch announcements or until you ask us to delete it.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf, only to run Clipzula:

  • Vercel: hosts the website and app.
  • Neon: hosts the app database (accounts, billing status, audit log).
  • Stripe and Link (Stripe’s reseller service, the seller of record for purchases): process payments, tax and invoices for paid plans and hold your billing details (name, email, address and payment method). We never see your full card number.
  • Contabo: servers in the EU (France) that record, process and store your footage and clips.
  • Cloudflare: DNS, secure network connection, and R2 storage, which stores uploaded videos and clips.
  • Resend: sends account emails (email confirmation, password reset, account notices) and the early-access waitlist and launch emails, and holds the waitlist mailing list.
  • Zoho: hosts our support mailbox, so it holds any email you send us.
  • OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to (including ElevenLabs for transcription): transcribe the audio of your footage and analyse it to find clip-worthy moments.
  • Post for Me: holds the connections to your TikTok, Instagram and YouTube accounts and publishes the clips you schedule.
  • YouTube, TikTok and Instagram: receive the clips you choose to publish.

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Videos you upload are deleted 24 hours after we finish processing them; the transcript and the clips made from them stay.
  • Your clips and footage stay in your account until you delete them, or until they are removed to stay within your plan’s storage limit.
  • When you disconnect an account in Clipzula, we disconnect it at Post for Me, which then can no longer post to it.
  • When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days. Backups and logs are overwritten within a further 30 days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable format. Email support@clipzula.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, platform tokens are stored encrypted, and every account’s data is kept separate from every other account’s.

Children

Clipzula is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For significant changes we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
